The Origin Story
Bearing 287 was founded by Chris Bevolo in 2025 after more than 30 years leading agencies in branding, marketing and communications, primarily in the healthcare sector. His professional and personal experiences in the three years prior to launching Bearing 287 led him to an identity crisis - what he saw and experienced in healthcare, in the business world, and in the world overall convinced him he was not doing what he could to fight the injustices he saw and to make the world a better place. In October 2024, on a trip to Africa, he had an ephiphany that his future should be dedicated to fighting for what he believed was right and good in the world, and to make the world a better place for his kids and the generations to follow. The way to deliver on this promise would be to apply his expertise to those who were fighting for the right causes, and to provide services at a below-market rate to help them in their fight. After years of benefitting from the system, it was time to give back. The company name, Bearing 287, reflects the direction he was facing while having this breakthrough realization, captured by the photo shown on the home page of this site.
