Chris Bevolo Launches New Consultancy, Bearing 287
New organization focused on supporting charities, NGOs and non-profits
Savage, MN, [January 6, 2026] – Today Chris Bevolo introduced, Bearing 287, a new consultancy offering brand, communications and audience growth strategies to organizations who are supporting the causes of human rights, democracy, social justice, civil rights and more.
The new organization is led by Chris Bevolo, an experienced organizational leader and storyteller, and is supported by a team of advisors who bring a wealth of wisdom and capabilities to client challenges. The organization’s website says it leverages industry-leading expertise and budgetary flexibility to help mission-driven clients maximize their positive impact on the world. Services offered include brand strategy and storytelling, growth and fundraising strategies, and AI strategy. The company is based in Savage, MN with offices in Cornucopia, WI.
Over his career, Bevolo has provided leadership and guidance in the areas of strategy, brand, marketing, audience engagement, and change management to organizations across the country. During his 35-year career, he founded and led his own agency for nearly two decades, rose to the level of CEO for a $30 million company, and participated in the sale of four businesses. He has authored seven books, including the 2011 book, Joe Public Doesn’t Care About Your Hospital, which became a field guide for driving transformation in healthcare. His latest book is Joe Public 2030 (2022), which makes five bold predictions about consumer healthcare for this decade. Chris has been a frequent keynote speaker and featured presenter at dozens of conferences across the U.S. and has authored a popular blog and numerous articles and papers.
“I was so fortunate to build a successful career, but over the last few years I became convinced I wasn’t doing what I could to fight all the injustices we see around us,” Bevolo said. “After benefitting so greatly from the system, it’s now time to give back and fight the good fight.”
Bearing 287 opened its doors on January 14, 2026, and seeks to support those organizations who are driving causes that Bevolo believes strong in, such as those mentioned above, as well as freedom of the press, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s reproductive rights, income equality, environmental protections and more. Part of supporting these organizations and “giving back,” according to Bevolo, is providing budgetary flexibility for those organizations who need it.
“Those fighting to make the world a better place are facing more challenges than ever before, with funding at the top of the list,” said Bevolo. “By providing lower-than-market rates and a sliding scale for pricing, we hope to bring maximum impact to these organizations when they need it most.”
The organization will also drive engagement on these causes through podcasts, newsletters, papers, and initiatives such as The 1985 Project, an initiative that explores how propaganda and misinformation work, how narratives shape collective understanding, and how individuals can reclaim their interpretive agency.
